Dios Creo Todo

Today was the first day that we really got the chance to interact with all of the children. The children had been told that VBS will begin at 2:00, by 1:00 the children were standing at the doors and peeking in the windows. Their enthusiasm was contagious and over 60 kids showed up.
As they were arriving, we set out coloring pages and they were so thankful to have a few crayons. They were so precious and gave us all their pictures.
Today we read the story of Creation from a Spanish Bible. I was amazed at their interest and how well they listened. We worked side-by-side with the Pastor, the Sunday School director, teachers and mothers.
They played music and games and did a craft. For today's craft we made butterflies (mariposa) out of coffee filters and clothespins. Children of all ages were so diligent in decorating their butterflies. We saw patterns and pictures that told stories. They were all so proud of their butterflies and wanted to give them to us. Eventually they understood that it was theirs to keep and protectively carried them home.
